Hartford County residents Amjid Khan, age 38, and Sher Ali Khan, age 51, both from New Britain, were arrested on Monday, Jan. 29 in connection with a home invasion in the New Haven County town of Naugatuck, Naugatuck Police announced on Thursday, Feb. 1.

According to the department, the duo entered a home on Ridge Road on Monday and assaulted a man inside.

After police were called to the scene, they found evidence of forced entry and found the victim with minor injuries who later declined to be taken to a hospital.

Once an investigation was conducted into the incident, authorities determined that the two suspects, who did not live at the home, had forced their way inside as part of an ongoing domestic dispute, police said.

Both men were charged with:

  • Home invasion;
  • Three counts of risk of injury to a child;
  • Second-degree threatening;
  • Third-degree criminal mischief;
  • Disorderly conduct.

They were later held on a $250,000 bond and arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
